Show each fraction in its own square. The circle counts the parts; shaded parts are numbered.
Tap Common denominator: both squares get the same cuts. The circle shows the new number of parts, and each fraction becomes shaded pieces over that number.
Tap Combine (or drag the right square onto the left).
Tap Rearrange: the purple squares move onto empty squares, and a second grid appears if the total is more than one whole.
Count the small squares for the bottom number.
Count the shaded squares for the top: after rearranging every shaded square counts once.
